She, Libuseng Visser, a student at the National University of Lesotho (NUL), had a Dream. And she saw it come true when she was awarded a first price in a competition run by NUL Youth Economic Freedom Association - NULYEFA and funded by BEDCO held at the NUL last Friday. 

What was the DREAM? "I am starting a business in which I use waste paper, turning it into pencils," said a beaming Libuseng Visser even as she subdued a male dominated body of fiery NUL and NUL-IEMS pitchers to scoop the first price. 

The National University of Lesotho (NUL)'s fierce coders, Kabelo Ramaboli, Nyakallo Moleko, Kabelo Lekhatla, Tankiso Kolobe , the fearsome foursome, won a prize in the just completed Hackathon Competition.

Their ingenious electronic system, Bundle-Up, will make it easy for local farmers to sell in bulk, even when they produce in small quantities by bundling up!

What a brilliant idea!

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) student, Mpho Sesiu, is reinventing Sotho folktales (Lits’omo tsa Basotho) to suit the 21st century reality by telling them in video cartoons.

So some of those who went to the mighty NUL Expo in January at the Pioneer Mall met an unexpected treat— a DVD containing just one Sotho folk-tale, “Mokoko le Phakoe,” by Mpho Sesiu. The few DVDs she displayed there were swept by captivated buyers within a blink of an eye. 

“I was taken by surprise,” Mpho said.

Sometimes, adding a little convenience makes the biggest difference. Likotsi Phoka is doing just that. The way this National University of Lesotho (NUL) Electronics Engineering student controls gates and garage doors borders the captivating.

Consider one case where his system would have helped.

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) community is once again celebrating! This time, it's on the news that, finally, the School in the Roma Valley, along with the Government of Lesotho, is eyeing a School of Engineering.
